Metoclopramide

Take the RealAge® Headache Assessment for personalized recommendations to treat your symptoms.

Metoclopramide (Reglan®) is often used in conjunction with nonprescription and other prescription medications to treat the nausea associated with some types of headaches. Metoclopramide is not an analgesic; instead, it prevents vomiting. By this action, it prevents ingested pain medications from being eliminated during vomiting. Possible side effects include impaired motor skills and abnormal contractions of muscles (dystonia).
