Viral Sore Throat
A viral sore throat cannot be treated with antibiotics. Viral sore throats usually go away on their own within 3 days. Besides a sore throat, symptoms of a viral infection may include a low-grade fever, a runny or stuffy nose, and a slight cough. Mild sore throats also can accompany a cold or flu. Generally these are not serious conditions and can be treated at home.
