Anger chokes the energy of the heart. Meditation on love is very powerful for dissolving this negative energy.
Love, is similar to compassion. We can think that the person we have trouble forgiving has made some mistakes as we all do as humans. They were overcome by delusions and were without the strength to rise above them. Like the parent of a child, still loves the child even though they've made mistakes.
