REALAGE TIP

Don't Forget Your Juice

Your morning glass of juice may be a brain saver.

Drinking fruit or vegetable juice at least three times per week may lower a person's risk of Alzheimer's disease, a recent study suggests. Antioxidants in the juice may be responsible for the effect. To keep your waistline from expanding, choose low-calorie or pure juices without any added sugar.

In addition to drinking juice, another way to get your daily fill of antioxidants is to eat whole fruit, which also will add fiber to your diet.

Try Cherry Concentrate - you only need an ounce a day. It has lots of melatonin, antioxidants, potassium, and anthocyanins. Put over yogurt or mix with any liquid. Good for people who have gout or arthritis.

I got dentures a year ago so I grind two apples plus grapes every day in the blender because it would take forever to grind up those skins with dentures and skins have 50% of the vitamins/fiber!!

I bought a juicer a few years ago and make fresh carrot and apple juice at least 4 times a week. It is very refreshing and I feel really great after I drink it. I also have great looking skin for my age. I credit the juice!

Putting milled flax seed in your yogurt can boost your system. I have read that flax provides more vitamins than broccoli, keeping your vascular system clean. It can be added to your home made breads and dinners, as well. Flax oil tablets are also available. When buying the flax seed, make sure to check for expiration dates.

I began buying fresh-squeezed OJ instead of the typical pasteurized OJ, and I am hooked! Now pasteurized OJ tastes "fake" to me... and I'm glad. Fresh-squeezed is more pricey (but you could buy a juicer to save $) but it is much more healthy and actually fresh. I love, love, love!
