REALAGE TIP

Beneficial Bugs

Yogurt fortified with healthy bacteria may help you ward off certain illnesses.

In a recent study, researchers gave workers a daily dose of either Lactobacillus reuteri, a type of beneficial bacteria, or a placebo for 80 days. Only about 10 percent of workers who took L. reuteri came down with a respiratory or gastrointestinal infection that caused them to miss work; more than 26 percent of the workers who took the placebo fell ill.

I eat yogurt the first thing in the morning with fresh fruit and a glass of water, not cold; and it has totally changed my digestive system. I also throw some almonds in the mix which are great for calcium. I never eat Activa since it contains so much sugar. I would prefer to get natural sugar from fresh fruit which also has fiber. It's amazing how quickly the results show up and how great you feel so early in the day.

I have been taking lactobacillus since being on antibiotics and have found this very helpful with my IBS symtoms. I will continue taking it as long as I am on immunosuppressant drugs as this may also help my immunity..............hope it works

I have IBS also, and ate Activa for about a week and a half and developed SEVERE diarhhea! Tried it again a couple of weeks later, because I didn't know if the yogurt was causing it or something else--It had the same side-effect--guess it's just NOT for everyone!

I have been eating Activa for a year and there has been a definite difference in my digestive system. I have had IBS for years and although my symptoms were not as bad as some it was enough to disrupt my life. I have added a probiotic supplement (pill form) to my regime and it has helped even more. I highly recommend the book "The Probiotic Revolution" by Dr. Gary Huffnagle. It helped me find the right supplement.

I take probiotic yoghurt daily sprinkled with ground flaxseeds. The flax helps my bowels move and the probiotics have helped clear yeast infections that I suffered with for years.
