You don't need a fancy yogurt maker, just an insulated jar and a thermometer.
Heat the milk (I use fat free) to 70 - 80 C, (this is easiest in the microwave), then cool the milk to yogurt temperature, around 42 - 47C. Using an insulated container, put in the starter yogurt: about 100gm of plain yogurt is enough for one litre of milk. Then pour in the milk, through a strainer in case there is any skin. Seal, and leave for 24 hours. Preferably leave the container somewhere at room temperature, not too cool.
After 24 hours you have yogurt.

You can then add whatever you want: fruit, jam, etc.

I I always brush my teeth, with a little plain yogurt, before I use toothpaste. it really cleans the mouth and gets rid of morning breath!
