I add blueberries to my cearel which gives it a punch for flavour. Recently I went for a checkup and my doctor said my HDL was higher than previous reading. Possibly the blueberries helped. .

I make a smoothie in the morning using frozen berries, a banana, yogurt and dried oatmeal for added fiber. For additional liquid I pour in green tea (I make it iced daily.) This is very yummy!

I have a raspberry garden and they produce in the spring and fall, easy to care for and are perineals. This year I am going to grow a Blueberry bush, should be interesting.

The article is very helpful. Except for blueberries, avacados, and melon, I can't eat the other berries because I have diverticulosis and do not want it to develop into diverticulitis. Everybody I know who have had this problem became very ill. Is there anything else besides those mentioned above that have the same benefits of berries?

A great, inexpensive way to get berries is to look in your frozen food isle. That or stores like Costco carry berries in larger quantities at cheaper prices. The frozen ones are great for smoothies, IMHO.
