Here's a tip for you: There is absolutely no such thing as good and bad cholesterol. Nor is LDL "bad" and HDL "good". These are tactics promulgated by the drug companies. This is so widespread that even the "experts" are convinced. As a matter of fact, many people are now DEFICIENT in cholesterol. WE NEED IT OR WE WOULDN'T SURVIVE! The whole idea of labeling LDL and HDL as "cholesterol" is also absurd! They are ENTIRELY different substances! It's a joke. Sells A LOT of TOXIC drugs though! Email me for the truth. doug_loans@yahoo.com. We must stop this nightmare!

If you don't care for raw peas, try pea bread! It's quite tasty. http://bakemyday.blogspot.com/2007/07/minty-peas-bread-for-bread-baking-day.html

I add peas to my salads, and tomatoe sauce for lasagna & ziti. Anyway to get veggies in there.

I happen to love green peas...especially the frozen baby petite peas. We eat them about twice a week. Glad to know they are loaded with FOLATE.

Spicy tomato and red pepper sauce, with peas and carrots, and whole wheat pasta. That's what I'm cooking today.

I take frozen peas and rinse them in a strainer under hot, not boiling, running tap water. This takes any "freezer" taste away and eliminates the need to cook them. They taste yummy and fresh.

Folate is also used during pregnancy to help prevent birth defects.

I like to cook spicy spanish rice and add peas just before fully cooked. This is a good side for a mexican dinner.

I take frozen peas - cooked, penna pasta-cooked and add some vodka sauce or spaghetti sauce and serve it with a nice fresh salad that include golden raisens, diced tart apples and some walnuts. It's gobbled up in nothing flat.

I don't know why but sometimes I like fresh, other times I like canned, but tonight I I was in the mood for some frozen peas which I threw into chicken gravy with a serving of precooked chopped/shredded chicken and poured it over mashed potatoes. It only took 15 minutes to prepare and looked colorful and tasted yummy. Oddly enough I found this article just after I ate this meal. I was craving something; 'must have been the Folate.

Hungry toddlers whining while you make supper? Give them their veggies as a snack - my boys loved having "power pellets" before supper - you guessed it. A small container of frozen peas, straight from the freezer.

I like to mix frozen (defrosted) peas into salads. They have a nice fresh taste and an interesting texture.

I prefer fresh peas to frozen, raw to cooked, but if cooked, I am guilty of enjoying peas mixed in with mashed potatoes. And snow peas are a tasty snack!

I make a light sauce of 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons of fresh mint chopped fine, and a teaspoon each of butter and sugar. I reduce this by about half, turn off the heat, strain, return the sauce to the pan add and stir in frozen peas, cover and allow to sit for five minutes. Yummm.

I make a quick soup with chicken broth, onion & frozen peas-blend it smooth with a "boat motor" blender and top with a dollop of yogurt. Delicious COLD in summer or warm in winter!
