I thought I had a diseased gallbladder because of upper abdominal discomfort following fat intake and almost continual fatigue. The doctor instead diagnosed a fatty liver. I now eat a low fat diet and lots of fruits and vegetables, and feel better than I have in years.

Sometimes before I go to bed at night I drink an aloe cleansing drink followed by a large glass of water. When you sleep your body's cells regenerate. When I wake up in the morning, I feel refreshed and clear. I do this 1-3 times a week.

Specifically, every bit of extra sugar (read: anything other than 2 -4 fruits servings a day) has to be stored by your liver (using insulin). So the less sugar you eat, the less work for your liver. An added bonus is that you don't exhaust your pancreas, which lessens the chance of diabetes developing. Another bonus is that less sugar means less inflammation and plaquing in your arteries!

I just started my own diet and after ice-cream, pretzels everynight I decided I didn't want to be fat anymore. All my life. I eat Special K with fruit in am. 2 graham crackers for snack, or other crackers, lunch is a huge plate of broccoli, lettuce, grape tomatoes and carrots, afternoon snack more small plate of strawberries with suger free cream cheese and part of a small cantalope.(no salt) and then for dinner, I get my protein, by either eggs, low fat meat, maybe a baked potatoe, no butter or sour cream. my night snack is, I can't get away without my pretzels, I have an apple, 1small container of sugar free carmel pudding, just like fall carmel apples, and a handful of small pretzels. And It sure made me not have any problems at either end. LOL I don't have a scale which is good for me. My doctor told me to eat 6 small meals a day, and for someone that is very active up to 8 small meals a day. Oh yes, and I drink about 9 or 10 - 21 oz bottles of water a day. Really helps to keep you from being hungry if you drink a full glass before each meal. And for the vitamins I miss: Centrum Silver. Sorry this is so long.

I had I thought a very healthy diet of organic vegitables and whole grains mostly but developed an extreemly painfull case of hemeroids, ainal fisures and bleeding that persisted for a year with a colonoscopie not showing any other problems. And even while using stool softeners and laxitives and drinking large amounts of water I had major problems passing dry stools. I found out through reading I was eating too much insoluable fiber so I started eating white bread and white rice and other starcy foods and my problems are going away!!! These problems were self induced and I had unintended consiqences of a high fiber diet.

When you crave soup, buy the reduced sodium kind with sea salt. Season with black pepper, and instead of fattening crackers, toast a piece of whole wheat bread, cut into small cubes and put into soup a couple at a time! Tastes great and satisfies the soup craving with a healthy alternative to salt and fattening crackers!!!
