Pay Attention Better: Drink Tea

Feel a bit scatterbrained now and then? Make yourself a big jug of sun tea.

Not for the caffeine, but for one heck of a potent compound that could fine-tune your focus. It’s theanine.

Here's a little something I came across while looking for the recipe for brewing sun tea. I had no idea this occurs and it made me stop & rethink the drink no matter how good for my knees it might be! I hope it helps others.

Try lemon tea or orange tea. You must add orange blossom honey as a sweetener to this. THE BEST!!

Tea is great, really great for people working 3rd as a pick me up. Carefull not to drink too much or make too strong, bladder infections are terrible.

Tea makes a great diaretic!! I usually don't have it if I'm going anywhere soon.

I sometimes use sun tea to heat up for a quick cup of hot tea also. It's already steeped! Just heat in microwave for 1 0r 2 minutes.

One thing I've learned over time, being a nurse, working shifts, it's important to listen to your body. Eat well, don't skip meals, try to keep a routine even on nightshift. Get your sleep.

Everything I've read about Sun Tea has been bad because the water does not get hot enough to kill any bacteria lurking in your tea bags, water, or sun tea jar/pitcher.
Take caution. Brew your tea normally.

Camomille Tea has done wonders for my energy. For me, it was best taken 30 minutes before bedtime and as the last nurishment taken.

For about 2 years, green iced tea was my drink of choice. The first winter after making green tea an everyday drink, i noticed that I hadn't gained my customary 5 to 7 pounds over the winter. As time passed i noticed I was about 10 pounds under my usual weight. I was slightly alarmed because I've never been overweight and I was now underweight. I cut out the green tea and am now back to my normal weight. But at least now i know that if I ever gain more weight than i want, my first action will be to switch back to green tea!

Brew your green tea in water a bit cooler than boiling, Oolongs and black teas can be brewed with boiling water. The most beneficial tea is pu-erh tea, which has tons of antioxidants; the older it gets the more benefits, just like wine. Make sure you buy a ripe pu-erh 3-4 yrs old, not a new one. Young pu-erh usually does not taste very well.

Food safety and sanitation rules do not allow Sun Tea. Tea must be brewed to kill pathogens which can cause food poisining, especially E-coli. DO NOT DRINK SUN TEA.

Green tea might be great, but not if you're trying to get pregnant or are in your first trimester of pregnancy. Because green tea actually lowers folic acid levels, which is exactly what you need lots of in order to prevent major birth defects!

Green and Oolong teas are great in so many ways. I've recently added a special new teapot to my repertiore -- the sorapot -- which not only makes great tea, but also adds beauty and serenity just watching it brew. All good for health, I think.

For the longest time, I did not enjoy green tea...then I found out that it is important not to brew it more than 2-3 minutes or it gets bitter. Now I really enjoy it ~ especially green jasmine tea! Adagio has some of the best tea I've tried.
