Never Walk Without a Goal

Walking shoes -- check. Pedometer -- got it. But do you have a goal?

No goal? Better set one. It doesn’t even matter if you hit the mark. People who put a target on their radar -- like walking 10,000 steps a day -- walk a whole lot more than people who don’t have a goal. Studies prove it.

hard for you to get up from bed in the morning? follow this:
while on the bed, turn on your back and drop your head upside down. This will allow more blood to circulate in your brain, and as a result more oxygen your will receive.the fact that more blood goes to the brain and facial area will make your face look younger because of the nutrients transported by the blood.

It's hard to count to 10,000 for anything once you're past your teens, for the most part, and feeling the clasp and clicks of the pedometer and thighs?? Not something I enjoy. Just gives me tension pretty close. You don't have to set yourself a goal. -- Just like in school doing a test. The important thing is to relax, make friends with yourself and feelings, and not give up. Find something for therapy during those times and in your free time, too. You'll make it.

To start the day,I have to plan well, allowing extra time to walk.light cleaning job, gardening and then have breakfast before I say I am ready to work.I do it to keep myself flexible, focus mentally, and happy
that I can go thru my day mentally alert ,to be able to smile even just to
my those I meet along, old and young.Life is to stay healthy always.

I like to walk with friends or family members. We always have the best discussions during walks.

I run the trend mill every morning after I drop the kids off to school....this gives me energy to run the whole day ,,,in the evening I go walking with my children but always a different route,,,up 1 hill down another this builts a close relationships with your kids and helps you also to slim down. My goal is to run the 10k at the Port of Aquaba in Dec,. to beat my old time of 1hr.20 when I ran the 10k at the Dead Sea...I beleive everyone should set a goal.,when you reach that gaol it makes you feel like you can do anything,,

I have been walking two hours a day once in the morning and once at night. I have two large dogs who love to go. I just moved to a warmer climate and will no longer have to battle freezing temps in the winter months. The weather was always my excuse not to do any outdoor exercising I am looking forward to winter this year.

I like best to set a time goal -- walk for 30 minutes, walk for 45 minutes. I have several preset walks -- which are different lengths -- so what I actually do is pick the walk that is the length of time I have or want to achieve. I try to walk fairly briskly. The time goal works for me. I also have a dog and it's just a lot more interesting walking with her because I watch her and keep track of where she is.

stay active, keep yourself moving during the course of the day, make it a goal to not sit around all day and just watch tv.

I've made walking part of my commute.
From my apt to the train station is 3 miles = 1 hr. When I arrive at the destination train station, I walk 1 mile to my job = 20 min.
Repeating the process at the end of day equals 8 miles a day.

WALKING IS A GOOD THING AND HAVING YOUR IPOD BUT TODAY
YOU HAVE TO BE SAFE AND LISTEN WHILE YOU WALK.

I recently began taking the bus to my second job, which is only 2 miles away. I'm saving money on parking, getting to smile and say hello to many people I wouldn't by driving, and best of all... I walk about a third of a mile each time! A win-win situation :) Very invigorating, in all senses.

Pedometers are OK as far as they go to help reach a goal, BUT a Heart Rate Monitor will help you find the exertion point where sweat starts. Then the endorphins will reward you with a pleasure kick. Does that help? (Hot jazz promotes movement too)
