Buy almonds in bulk and pack them in snack size plastic bags, count 23 to a bag. This is the recommended amount you can eat each day. Almonds are very healthy for you and if you have some ready to pop in your lunch bag to have with you through the day you won't be tempted to nosh on bad stuff.

whenever I am tempted to eat the whole bag I make sure that I have people around me that I can share with that way I am getting a nice little portion for myself and I am also satisfying someone elses craving for a snack. So that way we are all happy

If you're a CHOCOLASAURUS, Try doing the same thing with M&M's with Peanuts...keep it in your mouth until the shell melts, then the chocolate, then chew the peanut until it's all liquid. Takes a LONG time to eat them, vs. chunking a handful in your mouth and swallowing with minimal chewing. With Snickers, eat the chocolate off all around one bite at a time, then the nougat, peanuts, etc. until each section has been tasted for itself... try eating one snack size or maybe two... really helps cut down.

Eat flavorful snacks like pickles, olives, sun dried tomatoes, strong cheese... you don't have to eat as much to give your taste buds a workout.
Think of all kinds of things for low cal nutrient rich dip like hummus, mashed veggies like eggplant, cooked carrot, mix in some nut butters.
Shred extra servings of veggies into all your sauces, soups, chilis, stews, casaroles.

Make sure half of what you eat is live food (e.g. a veggie sandwich, fruit on cereal, salad with fish, etc.).

Mary 134e's lose weight exercise is a great one. Her mental body has got a picture that the emotional body could understand, thus achieving good teamwork. The weakness of the emotional body is attachment, thus the fear of losing something or someone. But with the right explanation, it'd let go of its fear of losing and start walking in the positive direction. I'm enjoying this new format in REAL AGE. It's very informative and very wonderful to read of so many approaches to a single problem. It's a wonderful means of outflow and inflow of intelligence. THUMBS UP FOR REAL AGE and thanks a million!

When I stopped trying to lose weight -- when you lose something don't you want to find it again? like a ring, or your wallet, or even someone's phone number -- and just get rid of what doesn't belong: on my body and in my life, the pounds I had been desperately seeking to get rid of for years started to come off easily, and haven't come back. My body isn't holding on so tight or looking to get them back anymore, because I'm no longer losing them, just getting rid of them.

MIRROR, MIRROR, ON THE WALL! Some say it's vanity to look at ourselves in the mirror. The quality of what we do or say is determined by our state of consciousness. Think positive and the results of your actions or words turn out positive. So here goes, first thing in the morning, take off your pyjamas and stand naked before the mirror. Whether you like or don't like what you see, hold a picture of the ideal shape you'd like to see each morning in the mirror. Do this mental exercise every morning, and in time, your emotional body will co-operate with your mental body, to take action to adopt a healthy lifestyle. As long as you're positive, you'll never visualize skin and bones. A healthy mind visualizes firm and toned muscles as a healthy and beautiful body.

I get an imagination like: If these foods were right in front of my home, would I dare go pick it up and eat it? Or would these empty containers look good laying in someone's yard, litterwise. After all, I don't choose to eat that many junk foods, and not much at all.

Even tho I am struggling right now with my weight - about 20 pounds overweight due to a diagnosis of CHF two years ago, I think one of the best tips I can give is to continue to read articles on health, tips on real age, and exercise. Just like a computer.....always put good info in - to get good results out!

Actually nothing is that bad for you unless you eat too much of it or eat it all the time. Everything in moderation, isn't that how the saying goes. I like the tip about taking a portion of chips out of the bag to eat and once they are gone then that's it, it's really that simple. Eat what you like but just a small portion then you don't feel deprived of the foods you love! Oh, and read The Secret, it'll change your life!!!

Here are a few tips that have worked for me. If I chose to have some chips, I do not eat them out of the bag. I remove a portion from the bag then put the bag away. I do the same with M&Ms take out a few and put the bag away. When eating the M&Ms I like to put one in my mouth at a time. I suck on it for awhile then with my tounge I push it to the roof of my mouth. It is a great way to eat them. 2 or 3 will be very satificing

lol, that passage read like the advice from a buddhist monk! "ah, little grasshopper. you must be mindful of the force coming from this precious raisin. For it is not merely a raisin, but a mountain springing from the bountiful abundance of the humble grape that has been reshaped to its essence..."
