Stress Management

Stress management is a learned technique to reduce muscle tension, headaches, edginess, and fatigue that you may experience before, during, and after treatments. Some techniques include:

  • Visual concentration
  • Rhythmic breathing
  • Imagery
  • Distraction
  • Hypnosis
  • Massage

How it's used: Muscle relaxation can help you focus on relaxing individual muscle groups through tensing and releasing your muscles. Deep breathing with visualization skills can help you to relax, which will in turn reduce stress.

Caution: Discontinue any technique that increases pain, produces feelings of uneasiness, or causes any other unpleasant effects.
