What are headache triggers?
Many headache sufferers experience headache attacks more frequently following certain types of exposures or events, called triggers. Triggers may include eating certain foods, changes in climate or environment, and various emotional or physiological states. For example, hormonal cycles are headache triggers for some women.
Headache triggers do not cause headaches. Instead, triggers activate, or bring on, headaches. By identifying and modifying headache triggers, you can reduce your headache frequency and the need for medications.
