The "Moment is Now. Here is the Truth." obesity health education campaign is designed
to help the millions of people who are more than 100 pounds overweight understand
the devastating impact of
obesity, the truth about this disease, and why it's a challenge
to keep weight off long term. The campaign also offers information about the availability
of
effective weight-loss treatment options beyond diet and exercise alone for people who
are severely obese.
The "Moment is Now. Here is the Truth." campaign is an educational initiative from Allergan, Inc., the makers of the LAP-BAND AP® Adjustable Gastric Banding System.
The LAP-BAND® System is indicated for use in weight reduction for severely obese patients with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of at least 40 or a BMI of at least 35 with one or more severe comorbid conditions, or those who are 100 lbs. or more over their estimated ideal weight.
LAP-BAND® is not for those who are pregnant or have symptoms for autoimmune, severe heart, lung, or gastrointestinal disease, cirrhosis, or pancreatitis. Surgery-related fatalities, reoperation, and band removal are rare. Band slippage, stomach injury, vomiting, and heartburn may occur. For full safety information,
