Has anyone out there had a tummy tuck or breast lift?
I have lost over 60 lbs and some more to go but when I maintain for awhile I would like to get rid of some of this excess skin.
Any help please.

I'm not for plastic surgery, the riskes are too great as far as I'm concerned. If you have a tummy tuck and breat done now when you lose more weight are you going to take the risk and expense again? Is losing that lose sking quickly more important than your health? Think about it. Keep exercising and firming up.

sharonrose,
Ihad both atummy tuck and breast reduction/lift 2 years ago.
I am so glad I had it done. My results far exceded my expectations. I too had lost about 60 lbs. I was 53 when I had my surgeries and thought maybe I was being ridiculos for wanting one but it was the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Sharonrose,
While I didn't have either of the procedures that you are contemplating, I have had cosmetic surgery. I also feel that it's one of the best things that I've done for myself. Yes there are risks so educate yourself on the procedures, research surgeons, and schedule consultations with a couple different surgeons. The surgeons will go over the risks with you. Mine required a clearance from my general practicioner and some blood tests before they would schedule the procedure. Once you've done this, you should be able to make an educated decision for yourself!!
Best wishes! Take care of yourself!

I've got the same question. I'm considering an arm lift and a breast lift. Maybe a tummy tuck later. I'm 60 years old and also feel kind of foolish about doing it at my age, but after being fat all those years and then losing 64 pounds, my skin just isn't going to tighten up on its own. I really want to do it! Having all that stuff hanging on me is diminishing the joy of losing the weight. I know there are risks, and I question the wisdom of spending so much money at this time, but isn't it my turn? Shouldn't I finally try to get some approximation of the body I want?

I have had breast reduction or lift and implants added and I'm so glad I added the implants. Don't go too big, but consider it for fullness. Just remember to wear a good bra (no wires) all the time after the surgery to keep them up and firm. I even wear a front closeure night bra. Its been 9- years and they look bran new still.
Pleased as punch!

I had always been flat chested like a 12 year old little boy, which never really bothered me. I always thought it would be nice to have breasts so I could look nice in certain clothes, but I thought I still looked good with out them. Then at 35 my cousin decided she was going to have breast implants put in. I was looking over her information and me and my husband thought "hum, could be fun." Then my husband found out he had some stock invested that he had forgot all about. We decided to cash it in and get some! (just for me, not him)
I faced alot of opposition from different people. I'm from a small town, so if you do anything like that you are obviously a two bit floozey. But I decided I was 35 years old, and had always played by the rules. If I wanted some boobies than I could get some boobies and I didn't need anyones permission!
I had no problems. I did have a hard time the first few months emotionally though and that I didn't expect. It was like an identity crisis. And some people feel since it was elective they can make any kind of comment they want. People can be very rude and insensitive. I wasn't ready for all that. Every one has adjusted now though and my must say "MY BREASTS ARE BEAUTIFUL!"
They look just like the perfect ones in the magazines and when I'm with my husband I feel sexy! I would highly recommend them!

yes,it's your turn
yes,you should feel good about yourself
& if you dont do it now you'll regret not doing it later & living your life.

I too have thought about a reduction/lift, I am only 24, but after a combined 6 years of breastfeeding babies and going from 250 to 150, I have decided I want my boobies to look 24. The reduction is because they are still DDD's and my back, neck and shoulders have been hurting me for 11 years now. The lift is to make my "mommy boobs" look like they should at my age. My mom still has perky C's at 43 years young, yes I'm jelious! I say do your reserch and follow your heart. Good Luck! :D
