Apple Cabbage walnut Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 head(s) red cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon(s) caraway seeds
  • 2 whole(s) Golden Delicious apples, cored and chopped
  • 3 tablespoon(s) water
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup(s) walnut pieces

Directions

  1. Trim and remove core from cabbage head; cut into 1-inch pieces (you should have about 6 cups).
  2. In nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Stir in caraway seeds and cook 30 seconds until toasted and fragrant.
  3. Add cabbage pieces, apples, water, salt, and pepper. Cover and cook 7 minutes, stirring once, until cabbage is tender-crisp.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar and walnut pieces.
