Apple Cabbage walnut Stir-Fry

The salty-sweet flavor of this apple and cabbage stir-fry makes it a classic pork-chop partner. Serve with a steamed green vegetable for a quick and healthy meal.

Ingredients

- 1 head(s) red cabbage
- 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- 1 teaspoon(s) caraway seeds
- 2 whole(s) Golden Delicious apples, cored and chopped
- 3 tablespoon(s) water
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) coarsely ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
- 3/4 cup(s) walnut pieces
Directions
- Trim and remove core from cabbage head; cut into 1-inch pieces (you should have about 6 cups).
- In nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Stir in caraway seeds and cook 30 seconds until toasted and fragrant.
- Add cabbage pieces, apples, water, salt, and pepper. Cover and cook 7 minutes, stirring once, until cabbage is tender-crisp.
- Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar and walnut pieces.
