Stop Smoking Checklist #3: 4 Ways to Get Past the 2-Week Point

4 Ways to Get Past the 2-Week Point

  1. When you crave a cigarette, remember that it only lasts a few seconds.
  2. If that's not enough, distract yourself. If that's not enough, leave the situation that's triggering the urge to smoke.
  3. Each time the desire to smoke passes, give yourself a pat on the back for your progress in breaking the habit forever.
  4. Save the money you would have spent on cigarettes in a special fund; use it to buy yourself something nice, like new walking shoes.
