How to Mind Your Multivitamins
This Week's Tips
Taking a multivitamin is a good way to fill in nutrition gaps. But for your prostate's sake, take just one a day.
A new study showed that taking too many multivitamins -- more than seven a week -- could raise the risk of prostate cancer.
Supplement Surplus
In fact, taking too many multivitamins was worse for prostate health than taking none. More than seven doses a week bumped up prostate cancer risk by 32 percent over the men who didn't take a multi. The risk was highest among men who also took selenium, beta carotene, or zinc -- another sign that bad things could come from a supplement surplus. Should you be screened for prostate cancer? Here are six things to consider.
Prostate Protection Made Perfect
